Described by Wired magazine as “possibly the most entertaining publication on the planet,” Fortean Times has maintained its reputation as the world’s leading authority on strange phenomena for 40 years. Launched as a labour-of-love fanzine in November 1973, the magazine has since grown into a much-loved newsstand title with a tremendously loyal core audience. Much imitated but never equalled, Fortean Times has attained genuine cult status over the years and is the first port of call for the rest of the media when it comes to subjects like UFOs, ghosts or conspiracy theories. Over the past decade, it has expanded its pagination and widened its remit to include greater coverage of popular culture, with a comprehensive guide to the latest in weird films, games, TV and music, as well as its extensive book reviews section. On top of the regular magazine, Fortean Times has also published a series of successful Magbooks (including the It Happened to Me! series based on readers’ own strange experiences) and organised the celebrated UnConvention events.
