The Market
Following a successful transition from PowerPC to Intel processors, Apple's computer line-up has never looked stronger, nor its future brighter. After three years of living off the back of its iPod products, Apple looks set to spend the next few years growing its computer business, particularly in the notebook field, which is showing strong gains in terms of both market share and positive public perception.
Far from devoting all of its energies to attracting new users, though, Apple is clearly going to great lengths to retain its faithful following with the introduction of the Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro and an intel-based iMac. For resellers, distributors, vendors, technology magazines and Apple itself, these are healthy signs that point to increased potential for growth over the next 12 to 24 months.
The iPhone looks set to cement Apple's lead as an innovative, revolutionary company, and push the brand – and associated products and media – into new, potentially lucrative areas.
