Monkey is the pioneering and free new weekly men's magazine (eMag) that is taking men's publishing in the UK by storm. In less than 10 months, Monkey has achieved a colossal ABCe of 245,404 (Jan to Jun '07) copies a week, making it one of Dennis's most successful launches to date. This new format has been recognized by an unprecedented amount of media coverage.

The Market

Monkey's July - Dec '07 ABCe is 271,667 an increase of 10.7% on the last ABCe. Nuts took a 2.6% decline and Zoo magazine took a 4.4% for the same period. Meaning Monkey continues to dominate in the weekly lad’s mag market place; making us the fastest growing men` mag in the World.

The eMag

Monkey is the world's most successful digital magazine.

The new format bridges the gap between familiar print products, online sites and newsletters, with the advantages of all three. Embedded rich media brings flat pages to life with video clips of girls, funnies and movie trailers sitting inside a high quality magazine environment. Readers can click and drag over any section to cut and email to their friends or save the content to their desktop. The reason Monkey works is that people are starved of time, yet have more media choices than ever before. Monkey works because readers can get the best information, video download s, girls, gaming and so much more in one easy-to-navigate package every Wednesday morning.

The Audience

Monkey's unique formula delivers a hugely attractive format and audience to advertisers.

  • The average reader is 28
  • Spends 45 minutes a week reading Monkey.
  • Over two-thirds of Monkey's readers do not read any other men's magazine.

This means that pound for pound, Monkey is a hugely efficient way to reach the 18-34-year-old man.

A Unique Advertising Opportunity

Advertising in Monkey ensures clients are able to combine the power of print advertising with the multimedia functionality and complete transparency of the web. Monkey's brand count increases every week, with advertisers including L'Oreal, Nike, Nokia, Shell, Sony Ericsson, Wilkinson Sword, 20th Century Fox, Xbox and Pepsi.

There are four different versions of advertising available:

  • Traditional display advertising.
  • Enhanced display advertising. We can take your existing press creative and enhance it with either Flash animation or complete audio and video. Alternatively, as often used by entertainment advertisers, you can simply insert HD trailers into your press activity to great effect.
  • Creative solutions. Monkey is at the forefront of providing effective and engaging creative solutions to our clients. Everyone is talking about UCG, but very few media owners are utilising it to great effect.
  • Front-cover advertising. Is a media first, Monkey is the only magazine in the UK to allow advertisers to access the front cover through a dedicated piece of inventory.

Advertising in Monkey can be hugely effective. Click-through rates are up to 275% higher than traditional digital advertising.
