THE BENEFITS

We think life at Dennis is pretty rewarding. In addition to a fantastic opportunity to blaze your own trail and the personal and career development to make sure you make the most of it, we also offer the following.

Getting away from it all

Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a holiday? You will have 28 days fully paid holiday entitlement to get away from it all each year. On top of this, every five years you get an additional six weeks – fully paid – sabbatical. Just enough time to fit in that trip of a lifetime.

And our Chairman likes to help us get away from it all, too. Each year four employees are chosen by their colleagues to win our Employee of the Year award. The prize? A week’s all-expenses-paid trip for you and a friend to his home on the private Caribbean island of Mustique. As holidays go, that takes some beating.

An apple a day…

Ok, so we don’t give out free fruit. We do, however, offer benefits that we think are even better for your health. Not only can you keep yourself in shape with discounted membership at a local gym, you will have private healthcare cover to ensure you get the best treatment (and without the waiting lists) should you ever need it.

Back to the future

We know, retirement seems like a long way off, but we want to help you prepare for it all the same. We provide a private pension scheme to which we contribute alongside you, as well as independent advice about pensions from an expert to help you make the best decisions. You’re also covered by permanent health insurance and life assurance whilst you make the most of life at Dennis.

Getting around

To help getting around a bit easier, you can apply for a season ticket loan to cover the cost of public transport. This means you pay less, which means you have more money to spend in the shops, bars and restaurants that surround our offices!

New arrivals

Lots of companies provide the minimum when it comes to maternity leave. Here at Dennis we like to be a little more generous, so we offer up to 26 weeks maternity leave paid at 90% of your weekly salary, depending on length of service. This is, of course, in addition to the statutory paternity, parental and adoption leave provided as standard. To help your return you can also apply for childcare and nursery vouchers to help with the expense of looking after the new arrival.

It’s all You, You, You!

Dennis has two assets – its brands and its people. And the only reason for the success of our brands is our people. It follows that we think your personal and career development is pretty important. You will have regular progress reviews and access a comprehensive development programme that includes a wide range of in-house and external training courses.

We also want to invest in the stars of the future, which is why we have just launched a development programme dedicated to developing our future leaders. Our Chief Executive began life at Dennis as a Features Editor and we want to believe each person we recruit could be the next one.

And the rest

We publish 20 magazines, all of which you can have for free. And we’re a pretty sociable bunch. In addition to the quiz nights, team sports and away days, we hold Summer and Christmas parties, usually at one of the best clubs in town and always with free food and drinks!
