Motoring Writer - Auto Express

Britain's biggest-selling weekly car magazine is looking for a dynamic writer to work on the title's fast-paced motoring desk.

The role will include producing news stories and first drives and also content for www.autoexpress.co.uk too - so web writing experience would be advantageous.

The right candidate should have excellent journalism skills, the ability to work under pressure and, of course, an interest in cars.

Production Controller

We are looking for someone with ideally a minimum of 18 months Magazine production experience to work across a number of Dennis Consumer publications.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a dynamic Production team. Responsibilities to include copy chasing, flight checking of adverts/editorial pages, liasing internally with Sales, editorial and other central service departments. External liaison with ad agencies, advertisers, printers and paper suppliers.

You ideally should be educated to an A level standard. It is essential that you are computer literate in Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat and understand a PDF workflow. Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop would be useful.

Candidates must also have good communication skills, an eye for detail, and work well under pressure for this demanding, challenging and varied role.

Computer Shopper

Britain's Biggest Technology Magazine is looking for two new staff members to expand its London-based team.

News Editor

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include running Computer Shopper's busy website and helping to increase traffic, as well as producing lively in-depth news for the magazine. The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience writing in the technology sector and be able to track down unique stories.

Staff Writer

Writing group tests and standalone reviews, you'll need a strong technical background and an enthusiasm for technology. Previous journalistic experience is not necessary, but you'll need to be able to write clear, structured English.

Section Editor

This key role within our team of section editors involves writing, editing and commissioning business IT news and features and managing specific news beats. You should have at least 2 years' experience as a reporter or news editor working on a business-to-business or technology title. Feature writing and online experience would be an advantage.

Senior Staff Writer

You are currently a staff writer or reporter on a business-to-business or technology title. Outstanding candidates without direct experience and recent graduates will also be considered.

Maxim

Senior Designer

Maxim is looking for a brilliant designer to help the Art Editor refine its recent redesign. Excellent InDesign skills are essential, along with a good knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop, strong creative vision and an eye for detail. The successful applicant will be required to layout pages, generate visual concepts, liaise with photographers and maintain the highest standards in design.

Picture Researcher

Maxim also requires a talented Picture Researcher to help find the best possible images. Under the direction of the Picture Editor, the successful applicant will be responsible for calling in images, maintaining relationships with agencies, generating ideas and tracking costs. Picture desk experience is an advantage but not essential.

Editorial Designer

evo is a glossy, monthly magazine devoted exclusively to the world's fastest and most desirable cars. We're looking for an enthusiastic and talented designer who is prolific in InDesign and Photoshop. You'll need to demonstrate a good understanding of typography and page layouts that will interest and stimulate the reader. You will be working closely with the art director, photographers and the evo editorial team, so good oral and written communication skills are important. You must also be able to cope under pressure while working to deadlines. Knowledge of performance cars is preferable but not essential.

Auto Express: Consumer Reporter

Britain's biggest motoring weekly is looking for a seasoned news hound to break off-diary stories on the title's news and features desk.

The right candidate will not only have the skills to sniff out a good story, but will have a solid grasp of defamation law, an impressive set of cuttings and an interest in cars to boot.

This key role will also include some feature writing and coverage of industry events. It will be offered on a fixed, short-term contract.
