Auto Express launches weekly iPad interactive app – free for the first six issues

Auto Express, Britain’s biggest selling weekly car magazine, has today launched its all-new iPad app, offering an exciting blend of the highest quality car journalism with interactive features and exclusive video content.

The app provides everything motoring enthusiasts require for their weekly motoring fix, and is the perfect extension of the market-leading title, taking the reader’s experience to a whole new level. It’s free for the first six issues, too – available from the apple iTunes store

Key features include…

  • The latest car news and reviews, with in-depth group tests, breaking news and
top-quality coverage of the issues that affect motorists most
  • Specially optimised images
  • Exclusive video content
  • A search facility for articles by manufacturer
  • Unique specification comparison between models

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-chief, said: “We’re hugely proud of our new app – it’s been designed to allow our users to experience the very best weekly car stories in an exciting new format. It’s the most advanced app Dennis Publishing has produced to date, and has been vigorously tested for user experience.”

Publishing Director, James Burnay, said: “Auto Express iPad edition is the perfect platform for advertisers wishing to create groundbreaking interactive campaigns, with unique adverts from Jaguar, Mazda and Remington Touch all booked prior to its release”.

The app features several interactive adverts, which were all created by Dennis’s in-house ad creative team. The concept and functionality of the ads were designed and built from the ground up by the team to make full use of the iPad’s features.

The ads include a 360-degree photo of the Mazda CX-5 and the rebalancing feature in the Jaguar Sportbrake. Both ads make utilise the iPad’s touchscreen and the accelerometer. The Remington Touch and Diamond X advert boasts many levels of interactivity including a video, 360-degree product view, hotspots and the chance to use the touchscreen to shave a face with your finger.
