Working At Dennis: Jobs at Dennis

Jobs at Dennis

With over 25 multi-platform media brands to publish, there are lots of opportunities at Dennis. Here's a brief introduction to the main types of role that go into producing some of the best-known media brands in the country:

Editorial
From writing picture captions to 3,000-word articles, editorial posts are obviously key to the success of any magazine or website. But it’s about a lot more than simply writing. Our editorial teams produce the creative ideas that keep their title ahead of the opposition, help plan the strategy and direction of their brand, and work with other teams around Dennis to ensure everthing keeps running smoothly. It's hard work, but exceptionally rewarding.

Art & Design
The look of a magazine is as important as what’s written in it. Capturing the essence of an editorial piece, in line with the tone and strategy from the layout to images used, is an essential skill. The art and design posts ensure the evolution of a magazine’s look.

Advertising Sales
Of course, revenue is important and our brands depend upon the revenue from advertisers who are equally reliant on reaching our desirable consumers. From selling small classified ads to creating bespoke multi-platform marketing campaigns for well-known multi-nationals, media sales is about finding effective solutions for advertisers using all the resources at your disposal. We need people who are passionate and commercial, who have a real ability to build and maintain relationships and are motivated by the fact that they make a real difference to the success of our brands.

Production
Liaising internally with editorial and advertising teams, externally with agencies, printers, finishers and mailing houses, the Production team are responsible for seeing the magazine through from start to finish. Ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the finished product hits the shelves and lands on doorsteps on time and looking great.

Circulation & Subscriptions
It’s all about knowing what sells a magazine. From the newsstand, this means making sure that our distributors place the right number of copies in the right retail outlets, building close relationships, understanding the sector, negotiating the best deals and being able to analyse information to get it right. To drive subscriptions it means targeting potential new customers, building the right deal and designing marketing materials that are tempting enough to turn sporadic buyers into long-term customers.

Marketing
Working very closely with all stakeholders to create company wide and brand specific marketing plans. Just a few of the maketing team's increasingly varied set of objectives include driving newsstand sales, collecting data, increasing web traffic and organising events. Delivering marketing polans, managing key partnerships and identifying brand extensions all contribute to the continued and future success of the business.

Events
Whether it's the infamous Bizarre Ball, Men's Fitness triathlons, Evo track days or "LITS", our brand new technology exhibition, the events team work across all our titles, creating and delivering memorable live experiences for our community of readers. A great event can build loyalty which in turn translates into long term customers - everyone's favourite type!

Central Services
HR, Finance, IT, Building - Facilities, Production and Marketing all work in partnership with every brand, providing the support that enables strategies to be implemented and aims to be met as effectively and efficiently as possible. Without these support functions, we wouldn't be able to publish our many brands.
