PC Pro Excellence Award Winners 2020 Revealed

Published at, 8th October 2020

– 25 categories awarded including Best Online Retailer & Best Laptop Manufacturer
– Brother win Best Printer Manufacturer for seventh year in a row

PC Pro, the UK’s biggest selling IT monthly magazine, revealed the winners of its 2020 Excellence Awards on Wednesday 7th October, with Brother winning Best Printer Manufacturer for the seventh consecutive year. Scan won a hat trick of awards, including Best Online Retailer, while tech giant Apple won both Laptop and Tablet of the Year.

The PC Pro Excellence Awards have been running for 23 years, and for the first time in their history the 2020 edition was held virtually. Tim Danton, editor-in-chief, and Darien Graham-Smith, associate editor, hosted the show, bringing to life the team behind the much-loved magazine.

Formed of two parts, the first 14 categories are based on the results of a three-month reliability & service survey that gathers feedback from thousands of PC Pro readers. Across sectors as diverse as broadband and printers, they mark each manufacturer or supplier on reliability, customer support, and whether they would buy from them again. That feedback is turned into one simple number – and the company that has the highest number wins.

The remaining 11 categories are awarded for Product of the Year, and these are based on the knowledge of the editorial team and their bank of testers – including those of sister brands Expert Reviews and IT Pro. Between them, they review and test hundreds of products, selecting only the standout products as the winners.

Tim Danton, editor-in-chief of PC Pro, said: “The PC Pro Excellence Awards does exactly what the name suggests: it rewards the companies that truly excel. When people and businesses are spending hundreds of pounds on products, they deserve to know that they’re not only buying great products but that they will receive good support if things go wrong. And when it comes to products of the year, it’s always a pleasure to reward companies that deliver a standout product with an award to mark the achievement.”

Dharmesh Mistry, Managing Director Specialist Division at Dennis, said: “PC Pro has been providing its loyal readers with authoritative, balanced reviews on the best tech products and services for over two decades. This year has obviously been very unique, with so many people having had to rely more heavily than ever on their tech, turning their homes into offices for months on end, so standing out to our readers and testers in a crowded market is impressive and I congratulate all the winners.”

The latest issue of PC Pro is on sale on Thursday 8th October, and includes all the details about the winners and why they won. You can watch the awards show online at: pcproawards.co.uk
